Craig Levein has not held back in criticising controversial pundit Michael Stewart, much to the delight of Rangers fans.
Hearts boss Levein was originally criticised by Stewart after Heart’s 2-1 loss to Dundee on Wednesday. Levein subbed David Vanecek off half an hour into his Hearts debut and also described his performance as “rubbish” after the match.
Stewart claimed this showed “poor management” on the part of Levein.

Speaking pre-match before Hearts host St. Johnstone tomorrow, Levein didn’t hold back in his response to Stewart.
“Listen, I’ve got to laugh,” said Craig Levein. “My good friend Mr Stewart is not intelligent enough, or brave enough, to try management. Why would I take any advice from him?
“It’s like me taking advice on politics from somebody like, I don’t know … Michael Stewart? So we’ll just ignore what he says.”

Michael Stewart is outspoken and brash and not the most likable of characters at the best of times. But he reserves much of his ire and rage for Glasgow Rangers. Stewart criticised comments Gerrard made after the St. Johnstone match in December. See also his ridiculous comments on “the biomechanics of the body” after Rangers thrashed Motherwell in November.
This is why Rangers fans have been quick to chime in on Levein’s comments via Twitter.

Whilst Craig Levein isn’t always the most popular man at Ibrox – his most recent clash with Rangers coming over comments made about Morelos – Stewart is much more derided figure.
And Rangers fans have certainly enjoyed seeing the outspoken pundit being taken down a peg or two today.
