Rangers prolonged pursuit of Liverpool’s Ryan Kent might be two months on, but any deal over a transfer doesn’t look any further down the line.
Steven Gerrard has consistently reiterated that the ball is in Liverpool’s court, recently saying he would wait to the “final second” of the transfer window to get a deal done for the winger.
But could Ryan Kent’s future come down to another Liverpool youth who had a sterling season last year?

The Anfield club is currently in the USA with Jurgen Klopp taking a closer look at both Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson, both 22.
The two wide men play in similar positions and with such a wealth of attacking options at the Anfield club already, it’s difficult to see where they both fit into the squad.

That suggests that only one might make the cut into German boss Klopp’s plans for next season, freeing up the other for a move.
With Wilson scoring 18 goals and impressing at Championship Playoff finalists Derby County last season, it may well be the Welsh international who makes the cut.
But Klopp could also see Kent as a solid squad option after describing him as a
“wonderful player” [LiverpoolTV] earlier in the week.

That said, there’s always the chance the former Dortmund boss could see both Wilson and Kent as potential squad players next season.
But with the likes of Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri in front of them, it sounds very unlikely.
