Arsenal academy graduate Charlie Gilmour has never made any secret about the fact he’s a diehard bluenose.
The talented midfielder’s Twitter account reads almost like an official Rangers one. He’s Rangers daft and very much keeps abreast of what’s happening at the club.

But on the periphery at Arsenal, is he the kind of player Rangers will have an eye on?
A two-footed, driving midfielder, the youngster is highly rated in English and Scottish football. He has also pledged his future to the Scottish national team.
Rangers have a plethora of midfield options but Gilmour would add youthful quality to the side. So what’s the likelihood of Rangers taking the player to Glasgow?
Charlie Gilmour signed a new contract with Arsenal back in 2016. The thing is, nowhere does it specify the length of the deal. Even digital footballing oracle Transfermarkt don’t know.
Gilmour was also selected to start in a recent friendly match in Dubai during the international break. He took to the field alongside the likes Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette. He made his full debut against Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League in November last year too.
This would suggest the Arsenal kid is well thought of in North London. Will that be enough to secure his long-term future at Arsenal? It remains to be seen.

But should he become available, or if he becomes available at the end of the season, it’s certainly an interesting option for Rangers.

And I don’t think you’d have to ask Charlie twice about the prospect of joining the club.
Rangers also reportedly tailing another midfielder from down south – but this time from the English Championship.
