It’s no secret that Rangers want to land Ryan Kent for another season on-loan at Ibrox.
The tricky winger won the SPFA Young Footballer of the Year Award after a sterling year in Glasgow and Rangers fans would love to see him back at the club before the window closes.
Despite Rangers’ eagerness, Steven Gerrard has described the move as still being “in Liverpool’s hands” as they hold out for a permanent transfer.

But could the Rangers pursuit of Kent have a considerable bearing on another player linked to Ibrox?
Rangers are reportedly lining up a move for Leeds Utd striker Kemar Roofe [
Alfredo Morelos won’t be sold unless a considerable offer comes in in the early period of the transfer window. Steven Gerrard has been very clear on that.
Yet Rangers could well need another striker if Kyle Lafferty moves on as expected.
It would reportedly cost Rangers £5m to secure the services of Roofe, who was Leeds Utd’s top scorer last season.
But with the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe in front of him in the striking berth, there’s no guarantee Roofe would get the desired game time at Ibrox.
Unless of course, Steven Gerrard planned to play the versatile forward in a range of positions.
Roofe can play across the front line, on the wings and even behind the striker. He’s a very useful player.

But should Rangers sign Ryan Kent, the club begin to look very well stocked in the final third of the pitch.
Could it be Kent’s immediate future, and not Morelos’, which really matters in the pursuit of the talented frontman?
As for interest from the player, Roofe is said to have had his “head turned” by the interest from Ibrox [Football Insider].
