Last week on-loan Kilmarnock goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann said he is set to snub Rangers to battle for the number one spot at Premier League Watford [Scottish Sun].
It highlighted a position where Steven Gerrard appears to think Rangers lack strength in depth. As such, we appear to be on the hunt for another goalie.
Wes Foderingham has failed to stake a claim to Allan McGregor’s jersey. The likes of Jak Alnwick is on loan at Scunthorpe and Robby McCrorie at Morton.

Rangers need a quality reinforcement between the sticks. Someone who can challenge Allan McGregor next year and hopefully, fill the gloves of the Gers stopper after he hangs them up.
After the weekend’s heroics, Rangers could look no further than Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis. The towering 6ft5 stopper has been sublime for the Dons over the last couple of seasons.
He was superb against Rangers at Ibrox. Twice he rushed out to deny Rangers in the first half, whilst he also pulled off a world-class stop from Jermain Defoe.

At 31, Lewis is in his prime as a goalkeeper and would be a solid solution to Rangers’s issue with strength in depth between the sticks.

Lewis has a year left on his deal with the Dons so could be available in the summer. But whether Aberdeen would deal with the Gers is another story altogether.
Would you take the big shot stopper at Ibrox if a deal could be struck?
