Rangers have been linked with a range of players as we look set to head into the summer transfer window. Some of them more unlikely than others.
Whilst various moves for defenders, midfielders or attackers have been well documented, there’s a recent report that suggests Rangers are also looking in an unlikely area.
Allan McGregor might be the club’s number one, but that hasn’t stopped Rangers enquiring about Daniel Bachmann.

The on-loan Killie goalkeeper has been on top form for Steve Clarke’s side this year. At only 24, the Watford goalkeeper is mature, commanding and a real presence between the sticks.

But the fact Rangers reportedly enquired about the player shows the club are on the hunt for another goalkeeper.
It’s unlikely Rangers will look to fill Allan McGregor’s jersey next season, but the club clearly wants stronger back-up. They probably also want someone who can compete for that jersey. The players currently at the club aren’t doing so.
Wes Foderingham could well be moved on in the search of first-team football. Jak Alnwick, despite his good form for Scunthorpe, could also be moved on in the summer.
That leaves Allan McGregor, Robby McCrorie and Andy Firth as the goalkeeping options at the club.
But don’t be surprised should we see the club move for another goalkeeper before next season begins.
