A controversial Croatian football journalist has claimed that the Rangers move for NK Osijek striker Mirko Maric is “done”.
Richard Wilson is claiming that the 25-year-old striker – who was the joint top scorer in the 1.HNL last season – will join for an undisclosed fee.
Wilson – a journalist who covers Scottish, Croatian, Serbian and Slovenian football – also suggested that that grainy video of people being shown around Ibrox was Maric’s entourage.
Rangers fans had got excited on Twitter when an unconfirmed video appeared to show people being shown around the famous stadium.
Why journalist Wilson is considered controversial amongst the Rangers support is because of previous stories concerning the Ibrox club.
Back in 2018, Wilson infamously pronounced that Rangers would not be signing Nikola Katic from Slaven Bepulo – which they obviously did – and that they’d be knocked out of the Europa League by NK Osijek – which they obviously weren’t.
The Katic tweets have since been deleted but Rangers fans have certainly not forgotten them.

It’s left the Ibrox support suspicious of Wilson but they will be following this story particularly closely.
Fellow Balkans football journalist Filip Mishov said earlier in the week he expected Rangers to “ramp up” their interest in Maric.
