After a stunning 4-2 victory in the first leg last week at Signal Iduna Park, Gio van Bronckhorst’s men have a two-goal advantage and the opposition are without a number of key players.

However, Marco Rose still has many quality operators at his disposal and BVB showed ominous form with a 6-0 thrashing of Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga at the weekend.

GvB was never likely to make wholesale changes despite a disappointing 1-1 draw at Dundee United in the Premiership on Sunday and in the end, he’s made just one.

Allan McGregor continues between the sticks, with Ibrox no.2 Jon McLaughlin returning to the squad following a virus.

Borna Barisic comes in to replace the ineligible Filip Helander, with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Calvin Bassey completing the back four.

Fit-again Leon Balogun has only made the bench.

In midfield, a strong trio of Ryan Jack, John Lundstram and Joe Aribo will lock horns with Jude Bellingham and co.

Further forward, Scott Arfield and Ryan Kent will provide support to central striker Alfredo Morelos.

Homegrown starlet Alex Lowry makes a Europa League proper matchday squad for the first time and he’s joined on the bench by Robby McCrorie, McLaughlin, Balogun, Leon King, James Sands, Steven Davis, Glen Kamara, Scott Wright, Kemar Roofe, Fashion Sakala and Amad Diallo.
