Premier League club Leeds United are reportedly on the verge of signing FC Utrecht winger Gyrano Kerk for £9.1m amid reported interest in Rangers’ Ryan Kent.
Reports earlier in the week suggested that Marcelo Bielsa’s side had not yet given up hope of securing a deal for the Rangers talisman.
But with Kent adamant he wants to repay Rangers in what promises to be a crunch season at Ibrox it now appears like the newly-promoted side have finally gotten the message.
According to Dutch paper De Telegraaf, Leeds are said to have pipped Serie A sides Caligari and Hellas Verona for Dutch winger Kerk, 24, with Utrecht holding out for £9.1m (€10m) for the player.
Kerk enjoyed an outstanding season in red and white last year, scoring 12 goals and laying on 11 assists in 30 games and helping FC Utrecht to a 6th placed finish in the Eredivisie.
News of the potential transfer to Leeds United will also come as a big relief to Rangers fans with Ryan Kent in outstanding form at the beginning of the season.
Leeds reportedly had a £10m bid rejected for Kent by Rangers earlier in the transfer window as the Premier League outfit flexed their financial muscle.
The Yorkshire club has undergone a summer of hefty investments, bringing the likes of Rodrigo (£26m), Koch (£13m), Diego Llorente (£20m) and Helder Costa (£16m) to Elland Road.
The Whites have also been linked with a loan move for Manchester United’s Welsh winger Dan James as they look to strengthen their side before the transfer window closes.
