For a transfer window which was defined by a lot of negative scrutiny, in the shape of Nedim Bajrami it actually ended on a high for Rangers.
The Ibrox side had spent much of the weeks before trying to shift out several of the club’s high-earners, with Todd Cantwell’s exit the domino which led to the Albanian’s arrival.
With Rangers initially hoping to strike a loan-to-buy deal for the 25-year-old Sassuolo attacker, the club actually stumped up their biggest fee of the window to sign Nedim Bajrami.
The £3.4m spent to secure Bajrami has somewhat been lost in the malaise of the summer’s chaos and that hammering at the hands of Celtic.
But as the Rangers support countdown to Sunday’s visit to Tannadice to face an in form Dundee United, Philippe Clement is presented an easy way to curry favour with fans.

Rangers fans want to see Nedim Bajrami
Philippe Clement – and to be fair Rangers – have routinely shown a hesitancy to introduce new players and always tended to take their time with new arrivals.
In contrast, Celtic have routinely thrown their newest players straight in at the deep end, and unlike Rangers have felt the positives as a result.
Whilst it’s believed Nedim Bajrami was not available for the Old Firm humbling at the hands of Celtic, the Albanian international certainly should be for the trip to Dundee.
Rangers fans in dire need of a lift would be immediately boosted if they could see the creative midfielder’s name in the starting line up.
Bajrami has impressed on international duties with Albania over the last fortnight and been subject to major plaudits from the nation’s Brazilian manager.
Ex-Barcelona and Arsenal left-back Sylvinho even hailed his ‘number 10’ as ‘outstanding’ and claimed Rangers have got their hands on a ‘big talent’.
Philippe Clement has a big decision to make in the shape of Nedim Bajrami, who will not have had much training time with his Ibrox teammates.
But with the Rangers support crying out for a positive boost, taking a chance on the Albanian from the off could help reset what’s been a challenging few months in Glasgow.
Put it this way, if Clement sticks with the status quo and it goes wrong, tempers will flare.
Trying something different will buy him time.
Cause for transfer optimism at Ibrox
Whilst Rangers fans are yet to see what Nedim Bajrami can do at Ibrox, there is excitement building over the playmaker.
Now the marquee signing of the window, Rangers can reflect on the summer’s transfer period with a number of additions who are yet to really get started.
Bajrami is one such name, whilst the likes of Robin Pröpper and Vaclav Cerny are other more senior options who’re yet to really get up and running in Glasgow.
Like Bajrami, versatile Feyenoord defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo is another for whom Rangers fans are yet to catch a glimpse.
Oscar Cortes has been signed again to play, albeit the Colombian is routinely picking up injuries, whilst Hamza Igamane could be given his chance after injury to Danilo.
Connor Barron and Jefte also look instant if not immature upgrades on the one-dimensional Trabzonspor pair John Lundstram and Borna Barisic.
It’s been a seismic shift at Ibrox and whilst the opening part of the season has been disappointing on a number of fronts, the campaign is anything but over.
Nedim Bajrami remains an unknown quantity as negativity lingers over Govan, but a starring role against Dundee United could soon refocus a despondent Rangers support.
