Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is being tailed Championship sides Middlesbrough and Birmingham City, according to a new report.

The Daily Mail is claiming that the Championship duo are tailing 28-year-old Foderingham with his contract expiring come the end of the season.

The report also claims that Middlesbrough are considering a move for Fods in the event that Premier League West Ham move for current number one Darren Randolph.

Foderingham is free to speak to clubs in January and given a lack of playing time at Ibrox it would be a real surprise to see him stick around beyond this season.

The fact Allan McGregor has just signed a new one-year contract extension [Rangers] is suggestion enough that Foderingham would have to play second fiddle to the veteran for another campaign at least.

The former Swindon stopper now needs to be playing games and a move out of Ibrox appears to be a likely option come either January or the summer.

Signed by Mark Warburton from the Robins in 2015, Foderingham is known to be an influential and popular member of the changing room.

His game time has been limited by the arrival of Allan McGregor, but Foderingham is a solid goalkeeper and will have matured during his time underneath the legendary Scotland goalkeeper.

It’s not just the English Championship where Foderingham has been linked to this season either.
