Talk of Wes Foderingham potentially joining DC United at the end of the season has resurfaced after an MLS fan blog looked into the move.

Back in September, a report suggested that the MLS outfit were lining up a move for the Rangers back-up goalkeeper [Daily Mail], who’s found chances limited since Allan McGregor joined last season.

But blackandredunited.com believe that there’s a real and genuine chance Fods may well be interesting the Washington club.

The fan blog believes that Foderingham may well be being lined up as a replacement for on-loan FC Midtjylland goalkeeper Bill Hamid.

Hamid is currently United’s first-choice keeper but his current loan with DC ends at the end of the season.

Current Midtjylland goalkeeper Jesper Hansen turns 35 in March and sees his contract expire at the end of this season.

The suggestion here is that Midtjylland will recall Hamid and DC United will be on the hunt for another goalkeeper.

Foderingham appears to tick a number of boxes for United and shares distinct similarities with Hamid.

Both are 28, they’re almost the exact same height, and interestingly, the blog claims that Fods and Hamid are both being represented by the same agency.

On top of all that, will Wes Foderingham be growing impatient with a lack of game time at Ibrox?

One of our longest-serving players, Foderingham joined Ibrox in the summer of 2015 and has made 141 appearances for Rangers.

Only eleven of those have come in the last two campaigns.
