Reports are continuing to gather apace around one-time Rangers-linked Gabonese striker Aaron Boupendza as a Champions League outfit reportedly launch a bid.
The Gers were said to be monitoring the situation regarding the Hatayspor star back in March [90min] but even then, it was acknowledged a range of clubs were considering the player.

Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Southampton, Leicester, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, and Old Firm rivals Celtic were all mentioned, and the player rated at £8.5m.
Now, the 24-year-old striker’s explosive form in Turkey is said to have attracted interest from talented Serie A side Atalanta.
Boupendza has netted an impressive 22 goals in the Turkish Super Lig this season, finishing the division’s top scorer and guiding Hatyaspor to a 6th placed finish.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the now Champions League regulars have bid £6.9m (€8m) for the player as competition heats up regarding his future.
Old Firm rivals Celtic have also been heavily linked to the player with Turkish media reporting last week that Celtic had submitted a £5.4m offer [Milliyet].
However, the Italian report claims all parties are confident that a deal can be struck with Atalanta in the coming weeks.
It’s not clear if Rangers are going to form part of this renewed interest in the striker and the Gers are already well-stocked in the top end of the pitch.
Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos is the club’s first-choice forward but Kemar Roofe, Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe provide ample backup.
