Celtic winger Mohamed Elyounoussi has pipped Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to the SPFL’s Star Man in their Team of the Week.
The Norwegian wideman was in impressive form for Celtic to score a double as they dumped Hibs 5-2 at Hampden, but Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos also stood out in Rangers’ 3-0 win against Hearts.
Both players were naturally named in the SPFL’s Team of the Week, but the tough decision who was this week’s star man has gone in favour of the on-loan Southampton winger.
Rangers youngster Jordan Houston – currently on-loan at Ayr United – was also included in the XI, along with former Ibrox stars Graham Dorrans, now at Dundee, and Fraser Aird of Cove Rangers.
There’s little doubting that both Celtic’s Mohamed Elyounoussi and Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos were the stars of the weekend.
But this time Morelos has missed out on the SPFL’s gold star for his double against Hearts.
Alfredo Morelos has been in rich goalscoring form for Rangers this season and has already hit 20 goals for the Ibrox club this campaign.

His form has lead to the likes of former Ibrox winger Neil McCann to suggest Morelos is worth £25m [Scottish Sun] to Rangers, and for our rivals to get pretty upset about it.
Whatever the case, both players are clearly on good form and it may not be the last time Elyounoussi and Morelos are vying for the SPFL’s Player of the Week award this season.
