Rangers fans can’t seem to get enough of the on-fire Alfredo Morelos at the minute, and by the same token, Celtic fans have had a little too much.

Morelos’ 20 goals already this season has the Rangers support fawning whilst our Old Firm rivals are spewing over in the east end.

The Colombian striker has yet to score against Celtic and this is regularly held against the boisterous 23-year-old forward.

But you can bet he’ll be just as desperate to score in December’s Old Firm Betfred Cup Final as every Rangers fan will be to see him break his duck.

More than just bemoan all this talk of how excellent Alfredo Morelos has been recently, our rivals have also been bemoaning the notion that he’s worth more than the change down the back of their couch.

Some Celtic fans cannot seem to grasp that Rangers have an immensely valuable asset in the South American forward – even “journalist” fans – and are baulking at the notion he’s worth anything near the £25m being touted by the likes of Neil McCann [Scottish Sun].

You get the feeling this is more about Celtic fans being scared Rangers might secure major investment for the striker in the coming years than anything else.

As for all the stuff from Celtic supporters about Rangers being in a position where they “must” sell Morelos, Rangers fans will be more inclined to listen to club manager Steven Gerrard.

The Ibrox boss is “100% sure” [BT Sport] Scotland’s Premier Club can hold on to their biggest talent beyond January.

Who knows, maybe Morelos might even stay beyond the summer for a pop at the Champions League?
