Celtic are “winning the transfer race” to sign Rangers-linked Airdrie winger Thomas Robert with the player reportedly set to train with the Parkhead club.
That’s according to the Scottish Sun, who once again mention Rangers alongside the 20-year-old Frenchman, who has scored four goals in 14 appearances for the Diamonds this season.

The situation is obviously complicated by the fact League One and Two football is still yet to return which means any stint would offer Robert the chance to up his fitness at Lennoxtown.
However, with his contract expiring at the end of the season there’s little doubt that this also presents Celtic the chance to cast an eye over Robert, who is the son of former Newcastle and PSG midfielder Laurent.
But whilst Rangers have been extensively named alongside Robert in the press, the club themselves have rejected any notion the right-winger is on the Ibrox wish-list.
Rangers were first mentioned alongside the winger in December last year [Scottish Sun] but since then the Gers have moved to dispel these reports.
The Ibrox club has taken a proactive approach to stamping out links to players they are not interested in and Robert was mentioned amongst two in particular this season.
Back in January Rangers were being heavily linked with Preston defender Ben Davies – who’d reject Celtic for a move to Liverpool – and of course Robert.
Both were rubbished by the club via the press with Andy Newport writing an article suggesting this in the Glasgow Times.

So, whilst Celtic might be casting an eye over Thomas Robert, any links to Rangers have already been extensively rubbished by the Ibrox club.
However, there is one player who is set to win a deal at Ibrox as the Gers prepare to sign up an African international for next season.
