Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley could soon be partnering Rangers rival Glen Kamara in the middle of the park with Leeds United.

That’s according to the latest transfer reports coming out of Elland Road, with Sky Sports claiming that Leeds United and Southampton have Matt O’Riley in their sights.

It comes amid reports that Leeds United have launched a bid for Glen Kamara with a deal worth around £5m expected to be concluded this week.

Celtic star O’Riley joined the club from MK Dons in a reported £1.5m deal in January 2022 and has gone on to emerge as a key player for our Old Firm rivals.

The reports of Leeds United interest in Matt O’Riley also comes after a reported £5m move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri collapsed ahead of the transfer deadline.

Leeds United are also set to be a busy club in the final few days of the summer transfer window with the club tipped to spend north of £20m on up to five players.

Glen Kamara to team up with Matt O’Riley at Leeds United?

Amongst them includes Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara who has been linked with a move to Leeds United all summer and now looks set to complete a deal.

The Rangers star has been at Ibrox since January 2019 and despite singing a new contract in 2021 has experienced a downturn in form in recent seasons.

Amid murmurs of the Finnish international being unsettled, a transfer out of the club is probably the best move for everyone and fans are keeping a keen eye on the situation ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Add in reported Leeds United interest in Matt O’Riley and suddenly those Glen Kamara links take on a new dimension.

With both players midfielders at Celtic and Rangers respectively, they could soon be lining up alongside each other in the middle of the park in Yorkshire.
