New Rangers Sporting Director Ross Wilson has “categorically” confirmed that Rangers are under no pressure to sell their prized assets in January.
Addressing the press for the first time since joining the staff at Ibrox, Wilson faced questions on Rangers’ finances and if the club were under any pressure to sell the likes of Alfredo Morelos in the next transfer window.
Authoritatively and with clear sincerity, Wilson denied that the club is under pressure to sell Alfredo Morelos, or anyone else, to supplement a £10m+ financial loss.

Moreover, he said the Colombian’s going nowhere.
“Categorically [the club doesn’t need to seel it’s prized assets],” said Wilson [STV News].
“Yip [they’ll remain here].
“We want our best players to stay here as long as they possibly can.
“We understand that, like every other club in world football, there comes a point when players have to move on to something else for a variety of reasons.

“We’ll be no different to that, but it’s certainly not on the horizon in January.”
The news has naturally been welcomed by many delighted Rangers fans, but it’s the salty response of our rivals which has most caught the eye on Twitter.
I think you’ll find that if you read their annual accounts they pretty much say otherwise.

Talking the price up obviously, as their books seem to suggest otherwise.

"do not have to" isn't necessarily the same as "won't".

Aye right I will do the jokes. Once January comes big Mike is due his money so sevco will need all the funds that they can get their hands on.

Did he mutter “If we want to go bankrupt” under his breath afterwards?

Wonderful stuff.
For a useless striker who is utterly mince because he’s yet to score against Celtic, some of these Celtic fans seem to pretty desperate to see Alfredo Morelos leave Rangers.
One wants to be rid of the 22-goal striker so badly that he complained about the Colombian’s work permit to the British Home Office [WordPress].
