Celebrity Celtic fan Martin Compston is at the centre of a British television feud after he seemingly refused to applaud an awards judge walking out to a Rangers anthem.
British television personality Dame Joan Collins was a special guest at the National Television Awards and came on stage to Tina Turner’s Simply the Best to deliver the award for Best Serial Drama.
Obviously, this is the walkout song at Ibrox and a song heavily associated with Scotland’s Premier Football Club, Rangers.
Given it’s not actually a Rangers song – and rather a song associated with Rangers – Compston certainly looked decidedly petty for not focusing on the context of it being played.
It’s good to know that even on a night when his TV show Line of Duty scooped some awards that the Rangers weren’t far from his mind.

Compston plays one of the main characters in the hugely popular BBC series which scooped the Best Returning Drama and the Special Recognition Award at the Awards show [NTA].
But whilst the situation could’ve just ended there, This Morning would go on to highlight the actor’s displeasure at the Rangers anthem blaring out as Joan Collins walked to the podium.
This was of particular distaste to Collins herself, who then lambasted the TV show on Instagram and even took aim at Lorraine Kelly for trying to start a “feud”.
Excuse the semi-illiterate Celtic fan tweet she’s used to highlight her point here:
Oh, the drama.
There the Rangers at the heart of some high British television scandal and they never even kicked a ball.
It really has been quite a remarkable two weeks since the Ibrox side dumped Celtic.
Whilst there’s little doubt Martin Compston definitely is a celebrity Celtic fan, get a load of this hilarious story around a Hollywood star claimed by Parkhead supporters.
