Bonkers Celtic fans have launched a petition to get former Rangers striker Kris Boyd banned from Sky Sports for criticising troublesome striker Leigh Griffiths.
At this point nothing our Old Firm rivals do really surprises Rangers fans – see trying to get Morelos deported – but our neighbours to the east have taken things up a level with this latest move.
The petition wants to see Boyd banned for comments he made about Griffiths underperforming before the striker signed off with issues behind the scenes.

“Kris Boyd is nothing more than a cheerleader for his beloved Glasgow Rangers. His bitterness towards anything or anybody connected with Celtic is disgusting,” reads the mental petition.
“He’s supposed to be an ambassador for his mental health charity yet he slags off Leigh Griffiths who has had well documented problems with his own mental health.
“Why Sky Sports continues to give this man airtime is beyond me! He provides no sensible or unbiased input whatsoever and should be removed from Sky Sports Scottish Football coverage immediately.”
Wow. Genuinely, just wow.
Petition to ban ex-Rangers star Boyd suggests he’s Celtic fans’ public enemy number one
The petition comes after comments Boyd made about Leigh Griffiths launching an object at a Kilmarnock fan as he left the pitch in Celtic’s 3-1 win at Rugby Park.
Boyd criticised the striker for throwing something at a rival supporter as he was substituted in the match and also appeared to respond to criticism he received from Griffiths during the game.

Griffiths appeared to “shush” Boyd after the striker scored in Celtic’s victory following a column written by the former Kilmarnock striker where he said Griffiths had four weeks to save his Celtic career.
Criticising the striker for his poor performances and application under Brendan Rodgers, Boyd appears to have drawn the ire of Celtic fans because of Griffiths time out of the game.
Even if his point was perfectly justified. Griffiths was underperforming under Rodgers. That’s a fact.
The most worrying thing about the Boyd stuff is that he is now the focal point of the debate, whereas Griffiths should be for throwing something at a supporter.

Just imagine if was Alfredo doing the throwing…
