The future of Rangers boss Philippe Clement remains a hot topic of debate as the Ibrox side travel to France to face OGC Nice.
The Belgian manager, 50, will hope that the Europa League provides suitable respite with Rangers 11 points off Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and fan sentiment beginning to turn.
Philippe Clement insists he’s at Rangers for the long-haul even if results have ‘not been where we need them to be’ in the early part of the season.
But now the Rangers manager could be given a get out jail free card as one particular board of directors prepare to decide the fate of another under-fire manager.

Philippe Clement linked to Belgium job
As the pressure builds on Philippe Clement, there are some who believe the Belgium manager’s gig could offer the Rangers boss an easy escape.
German-Italian manager Domenico Tedesco is a man under pressure and Clement was named on a list of three potential Belgium manager options.
In fact, the Rangers manager was named as the leading candidate with ex-Club Brugge CEO Vincent Mannaert set to start a new job as Belgium sporting director next month.
But when Tedesco showed up at the UEFA Nations League Playoff draw, plenty thought that the Red Devils had thrown their support behind the 39-year-old boss.
Now, leading Belgian football journalist Sacha Tavolieri is claiming that the Belgium FA are set to meet over the future of Domenico Tedesco in the coming days.
Belgium FA set to ‘finalise’ manager decision
Tavolieri claims that the Belgian FA are set to meet on Thursday 28th November with the future of Domenico Tedesco the main topic of conversation.
The Belgian claims that after an informal meeting over Tedesco in the last international break, key players in the Belgian FA will ‘finalise’ their decision over the manager at this meeting.
Vincent Mannaert is then set to meet with the Belgium FA a week later to discuss his thoughts and strategies as he moves into a new role.
Tavolieri doesn’t appear to have any insight into what’s going to happen with Tedesco, signing off the message by saying ‘wait and see’ when it comes to the Belgium manager.
However the journalist claims the ex-RB Leipzig manager has ‘lost the Belgium dressing room’.
In a post on X, Tavolieri said:
“The Board of Directors will meet twice in the coming days. The first meeting, scheduled for tomorrow, will focus on the future of Domenico Tedesco.
“Following an informal meeting held on Tuesday, November 19, the board members are expected to finalize the decision regarding Tedesco, bearing in mind that the Belgian Red Devils’ locker room has reportedly completely turned against him, as previously revealed.
“A second meeting, referred to as the “sports meeting,” is planned for mid-next week (early December).
“This session will focus on reviewing the strategies outlined by Vincent Mannaert, who will officially assume his new role on December 1.
“Wait and see.”
Philippe Clement could not have been any clearer about his Rangers future when pressed on the links to Belgium last week.
