Bosnian bulldozer Nikola Katic has never hidden his allegiances to Rangers.

And the big defender hoisted his Gers flag high again as he mentioned his love of the Ibrox club after Plymouth shocked Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Plymouth knocked the Premier League leaders out of the tournament courtesy of a penalty goal from ex-Rangers striker Ryan Hardie.

But Nikola Katic played his role in the game with a stunning performance at the heart of the Plymouth defence.

Nikola Katic was given the Man of the Match award at full-time as Plymouth ran out 1-0 winners over Liverpool

But ex-Celtic goalkeeper Conor Hazard also had a huge role to play between the sticks for the Pilgrims.

Both players were interviewed at full-time and the ex-Parkhead goalie couldn’t speak highly enough about the former Rangers defender.

”What a performance,” Hazard told ITV Sport when asked about Katic.

“He’s been instrumental since he came into our squad. He’s made such a massive difference and we’re lucky to have him.”

Nikola Katic was then asked about the performance of Conor Hazard and couldn’t resist getting a sly Rangers dig in.

“First when I came I hated him because he’s a Celtic guy and I’m a big Rangers guy,” said Katic.

”But at the moment we are good and I like to play with him and he gave us this win today.”

Ex-Rangers star ‘f——— loved’ win over Liverpool

Nikola Katic proved to Rangers that he has what it takes to put in a big shift in defence with the centre-back dominating against Liverpool.

Katic joined Plymouth on loan from FC Zurich until the end of the season and Rangers may well have one eye on the defender’s progress.

Niko has never hid his desire to return to Ibrox and how the Gers might’ve used the defender’s never-say-die spirit as they crashed out of the Scottish Cup v Queen’s Park.

Reflecting on a superb performance against Liverpool, the ex-Ibrox defender has also gone viral for his excellent post-match interview.

”I f——— love it, I f——— love it,” Katic told ITV. “That’s why I came here.

”I recognise from the first day with the new coach, energy and everything, so it’s a beautiful day for everybody here.

“It’s good to get the confidence from this but we have a hell of a job to work on in the future.

”Defensive structure, everyone gave 120%, we respected what the coach asked from us, what he practiced this week and yeah that’s it.”
