Sam Lammers seemed like the obvious summer replacement for Ryan Kent when he joined Rangers in the summer.
Good on the ball and with an eye for a pass, a position playing alongside or in support of a central striker looked like it was going to be the plan, in pre-season he looked like he could be a useful signing.
A slow start, poor results and a series of missed chances mean that Sam Lammers is skating on thin ice with regards to his starting jersey.

Sam Lammers needs to find form to keep Rangers place
Presently, he is getting on the teamsheet, almost by default, due to a shortage of other options for Philippe Clement.
Had Sam Lammers, who was persuaded to sign for Rangers by Michael Beale, scored the three sitters against Servette, Celtic and Hibernian when he was presented with 1v1 situations, then his record would look better and, at least, give a little bit of hope.
On another day against Hibs, the 26-year walks off with a goal and assist to his name.
This is exactly what he needs to do to keep his position.
Tom Lawrence will soon be back and he won’t be as wasteful.
Rabbi Matondo was Rangers most in form player before he got injured and he will also be back soon.

It was noticeable at the weekend that Lammers was making more of an effort to get in and around the box, aside from when he hit the post, there were another couple of occasions when he was able to get shots on goal.
The problem is, in 17 games, he has just one goal and one assist.
Playing as a number 10 or in the front three should see players scoring or creating goals on a regular basis.
On a free transfer Lammers would have been worth a gamble given his form over the last few seasons but for a reported £3m needs to be a regular starter or we won’t see that money back.
Time is running out for Sam Lammers with key players getting fitter by the day, only he can make the difference between becoming a Rangers hero or a Rangers flop.
