Pundit Willie Miller believes Rangers fans may have a real change of heart over summer signing Sam Lammers.

Rangers grabbed a third straight league win under new boss Philippe Clement, hammering Dundee 5-0 away from home.

This has been a great start for Clement, with many Rangers fans already believing that he has the magic touch at Ibrox.

Clement is getting a tune out of players who struggled under Michael Beale, with Sam Lammers one player to start showing a little more.

Willie Miller comments on Sam Lammers

Lammers arrived from Atalanta over the summer and hasn’t exactly impressed in his opening months at Rangers.

The Dutchman has looked to be lacking in confidence after a difficult few years.

Lammers scored a superb goal on Wednesday night though, hammering a strike in off the bar from outside the box.

This is the kind of quality Rangers fans want to see from Lammers and the hope is that he can really kick on now.

Pundit Willie Miller has now offered his view to BBC Sport, suggesting that Lammers’ goal was a simply ‘fabulous’ strike.

Miller added that Rangers fans will ‘definitely change their minds’ on Lammers if he can keep scoring goals like this.

“If Sam Lammers keeps doing that, the fans will definitely change their minds and get right behind him,” said Miller. “It’s a fabulous strike,” he added.

Rangers doubters would surely love to be wrong about Lammers

The pressure of playing for Rangers is huge, especially if you come in for a decent fee.

Supporters expect an instant impact so seeing 26-year-old Lammers struggle has been bitterly disappointing.

Wednesday’s goal could be a real turning point though with Clement keen to see Lammers build up his confidence.

Most Rangers fans would love nothing more than to see Lammers completely turn things around and make a consistent attacking impact this season.

That may mean a few supporters eat humble pie, but if it takes Rangers closer to silverware this season, then most supporters would surely accept being wrong about the Dutchman.
