Rangers boss Philippe Clement has praised Sam Lammers whilst urging him to believe in himself a little more moving forward.
It took a while but Rangers did finally get going against Dundee after several delays at Dens Park.
Ryan Jack fired Rangers ahead in the first half before the Gers ran riot after the break.
Danilo, Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and James Tavernier all added goals, handing Rangers a thumping 5-0 victory.
The time was gone 10:30pm when the final whistle sounded but Rangers fans probably didn’t care all that much after another victory.
Philippe Clement praises Rangers goalscorer Sam Lammers
That’s three league wins in three for new boss Philippe Clement, who has made a very positive start to life at Ibrox.
One really pleasing aspect during Wednesday’s win was the goal from Lammers, who scored a stunner from outside the box.
Lammers has struggled to find his best form since arriving from Atalanta over the summer and has come in for huge criticism from fans.
Clement seems keen on utilising Lammers as a number 10 and has now moved to praise the Dutchman.
Clement told Sky Sports that he thinks Lammers has real technical ability whilst highlighting the physical side Lammers can provide.
The Rangers boss did though add that Lammers needs to believe in himself more and the Gers coaching staff are now working to bring confidence into his game.
“He is somebody with good technical quality, he is also somebody with height – he is a tall guy,” said Clement. “In Scottish football, you need also enough tall people for the set pieces, for the opponents who are really waiting for that, so we need to keep a balance in our squad in that way, that we don’t have too many smaller players and that we come in trouble because of that.”
“So yeah, he is somebody with good technical quality who can score goals but he needs to believe more in himself – we’re working on that, we’re working with him like that, and I think this goal will give him a lot of confidence because it was top quality,” he added.

Lammers not a lost cause at Rangers
Lammers would probably admit that he hasn’t really been at his best in his opening months as a Rangers player.
The 26-year-old just hasn’t got going yet and his record of two goals and two assists in 20 games just isn’t good enough.
Clement clearly sees something in Lammers though and Rangers fans shouldn’t write him off just yet.
The goal against Dundee was a stunner and Clement is working to make Lammers believe that he can produce that regularly.
Lammers deserves some time to adjust in Scotland and we can only hope that he builds on Wednesday’s goal with quality performances moving forward.
