Barry Ferguson has said that Rangers should make the loan deal of Malik Tillman permanent and keep the Bayern Munich-owned attacking midfielder beyond the end of the season, as quoted in GlasgowLive.

The former Rangers star has been hugely impressed by Tillman, and he thinks that it would make absolute sense for the Scottish Premiership club to keep Tillman beyond his loan spell.

The pundit has also said that Rangers manager Michael Beale should not rotate his goalkeepers Jon McLaughlin and Allan McGregor.

Rangers urged to sign Malik Tillman permanently

Ferguson said about Tillman: “He’s a game changer, no doubt about it. When games are sticky and they’re stuffy, he can come up with that bit of magic. I think he’s improved in each game.

“There was never any danger in his technical side of the game – brilliant feet, he can see a pass, he can score a goal – it was the other side of the game that I look at, when he loses the ball, and I’ve seen him a difference in him over the last four weeks.

“When he’s lost possession, his first thought is, ‘can I try and get that ball back’, or, ‘can I go and help my teammates get it back?’

“The reported fee is around the 5 million euro mark. For me, I think it’s a no-brainer.”

The pundit added about the goalkeepers: “I think it is a position you can’t rotate. I’m just giving my honest opinion.

“He mentioned fatigue and I know goalkeepers have got to do a bit of running, but I can not see how they can be.

“For me, Allan McGregor is Rangers’ number one until the end of the season

Impressive

Malik Tillman has been very impressive during his time at Rangers so far, and there is no surprise that Barry Ferguson wants the Scottish Premiership club to make his loan deal permanent.

The USA international is only 20 now, but the attacking midfielder has been showing maturity beyond his years.

Rangers manager Michael Beale has publicly said that he wants the Gers to sign Tillman on a permanent deal in the summer of 2023.

Tillman has made 18 starts and five substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season.

The youngster has scored seven goals and given four assists in those matches.
