Creag Robertson’s Rangers exit has added yet more uncertainty to the current situation at the club.
It means there are now multiple key behind-the-scenes Ibrox positions lying vacant after the director of football operations announced he will be stepping down to ‘pursue new opportunities’.
He will continue to work a notice thought but it just means Rangers now must search for the right fit in yet another role after some other high-profile departures, names CEO James Bisgrove, chairman John Bennett, academy director Zeb Jacobs and sporting director Ross Wilson.
All of the above will need replaced at a time when there are plenty of concerns over the direction of the club both on and off the pitch.

Ferguson’s theory on Creag Robertson’s Rangers exit
Ferguson reckons Robertson is looking to move his career in another direction but will still be around until the end of the year.
He told Go Radio: “I know Creag pretty well. He is director of football operations. It looks to me as if he is just ready to go and take his career somewhere else.
“I believe it’s round about Christmas time he is leaving. I’m sure I will bump into him before that and I’ll obviously wish him all the best.”
Asked if there are concerns about all the vacancies, he added: “Listen, I just think it’s one of those things in football. I think Rangers need to get a CEO in as soon as possible.
“I think John Gilligan has been clear he is not just going to bring anybody in, they are going to have to go through a clear process. That is what they are doing. I think in the next number of weeks you will see a CEO through the door and after that it will be the chairman.”
Current Rangers boardroom vacancies
Rangers currently need to find a chairman, CEO, academy director, sporting director and director of football operations.
John Bennett had to step down from the former due to health reasons, with John Gilligan stepping in temporarily until a permanent solution can be found.
James Bisgrove left as CEO earlier this year, with Bennett performing that role as well as chairman beofore moving on. Zeb Jacobs vacated the academy director, while Ross Wilson still hasn’t been replaced as sporting director since his move to Nottingham Forest.
