"Aye right!" – Rangers fans react to Old Firm guard of honour debate

With Celtic coming to Ibrox next week as league winners, there’s been a bit of debate raging about a guard of honour.
As is tradition the next team to face newly crowned titleholders will applaud the winners on to the pitch. That is if they aren’t Old Firm rivals.

Such is the ill feeling between the sides, there’s not a chance that Rangers will line up and applaud their rivals. The bubbling contempt between the rivals has boiled over recently and I can’t imagine it’ll calm down between now and Sunday.
If the shoe was on the other foot, do you genuinely believe they’d do the same? Me neither.
And if there was any suggestion it was going to happen, Rangers fans have almost universally shut any talk down.

The guard of honour is a mark of respect and Rangers have had none of this from Celtic over the last few years. The level of contempt between the sides is at fever pitch and since 2012 any respect between the Old Firm has further disintegrated.
They wouldn’t do it for us, and we’ve no intention of doing it for them.
In fact, there’s only one thing, if anything, that we owe Celtic next week. And it’s not a round of applause.
