Antonio Colak might’ve left Rangers for Parma this summer but the impact of the striker’s latest goal is sure to be felt by Cyriel Dessers.

The Ibrox side broke even when they sold the big Croatian to the Serie B side in the summer, one year on from when Tony Goals signed from Greek outfit PAOK.

Despite managing 18 goals in his first season at Rangers, Michael Beale – and plenty of the Rangers support to be fair – deemed Antonio Colak surplus to requirements in the summer.

But it’s a scenario which is now being revisited by the fact Rangers’ £13m strike force has so far failed to set the heather alight in Glasgow.

And now the latest Antonio Colak goal is sure to heap the pressure on Cyriel Dessers, the man Rangers signed to replace him.

Antonio Colak goal heaps pressure on Cyriel Dessers

Antonio Colak found the back of the net with a fine goal as Parma neatly dispatched US Catanzaro 5-0 away from home with the Croatian adding the final goal.

Taking the ball in a tight area before superbly turning and neatly finishing into the bottom corner, it’s a goal taken by a natural finisher and someone who is growing in confidence.

It’s also Antonio Colak’s second strike in three Serie B games and the striker is beginning to look quite the buy for Parma and, well, quite the sale for Rangers.

Whilst Michael Beale has been quick to defend Cyriel Dessers’ record as he settles into life at Rangers, the return of two goals in nine has Ibrox supporters asking questions.

Signed for a reported £4.5m from Cremonese in the summer, the forward also didn’t come cheap and so far Rangers haven’t seen a return on their investment.

With Brazilian striker Danilo now facing a stint on the sidelines, Rangers need Cyriel Dessers to step up with Antonio Colak’s latest goal showing the ex-Feyenoord forward how it’s done.
