Rangers star Allan McGregor has reached 500 appearances for the Ibrox club – and took the opportunity to goad Ibrox skipper James Tavernier in the process.
The Ibrox legend marked the landmark with a 2-0 victory over Dundee Utd, keeping a clean sheet and guiding Rangers to victory.
But after the match Allan McGregor was in cheeky mood as he landed one on a playful James Tavernier, who’d interrupt a RangersTV interview to congratulate his teammate.
With James Tavernier celebrating the clean sheet and Allan McGregor being awarded the Man of the Match award, the Ibrox goalie hilariously bit back, claiming “about time” and “that’s because they took you off”.

The Rangers legend was also speaking about reaching the milestone after the 2-0 win over Dundee United.
Reflecting on his journey to the milestone, the legendary Rangers goalkeeper claims he is “honoured and privileged” to reach 500 games for the club.
“Very proud moment, obviously you need to concentrate on the game,” said McGregor.
“You need to take it as any other game. But really honoured and privileged to have played 500 games for this club.
“It’s been a long journey but enjoyable. It’s a fantastic club and I’ve said it so many times, I’m just so honoured to have played that many games.
“I can keep saying but it’s the same words over and over again. I had my family here so it’s a proud moment for them. It’s special, it means a lot to me.”
There remains much debate over the future of Allan McGregor at Rangers with the likes of Angus Gunn touted to replace him.
Michael Beale has also hinted that this isn’t the end of the road for Allan McGregor at Rangers either, as the debate rages around the position.
The legendary stopper is also set to play a Rangers testimonial, with Newcastle United to visit Glasgow for a friendly in July.
