There’s an undoubted spring in Alfredo Morelos’ step.
The Colombian looks every inch the top-class player Steven Gerrard and Falcao bummed him up to be, and against St. Johnstone on Saturday he was a class apart.
Excusing the one where the wee man forgot to shoot, he tormented the Saints. Wrestling them flank to flank, he even dropped deep to win the ball back and link up play. He rarely gives the ball away, he is superb at timing his touches and seems to constantly catch defenders off balance. He also left the Saints defender on his backside for the goal.
What’s more, he’s happy at Ibrox. And the fans are happy with him.
At 22, and under the stewardship of Gerrard, he’s also only going to get better.

Alfredo Morelos can become a well-rounded, complete striker
While Morelos is far from being the complete package, he’s as well-rounded a front man as they come.
He is physical, he can dribble, he has pace, he can score and he can link-up play. He’s also good in the air and finds himself in so many dangerous positions. He’s a multi-talented forward and fills the mould of the complete striker. He’s not there yet though.
Morelos still misses too many. But he gets in the positions, and still manages to score enough. If he can find a killer instinct for all of his chances, El Bufalo could become a player of the highest quality. Morelos’ temperament is also often very immature, although he has came on with it recently.
He is a constant threat for Rangers and arguably our best player.

When was the last time Rangers had such an asset?
Rangers highest ever transfer fee received was for Alan Hutton. The flying right back joined Tottenham Hotspur for £9m in 2008.
Morelos – according to the Sun – was the subject of £11m Chinese interest in January. That was before a Colombia cap and before this season. Morelos has been consistently superb so far for Rangers this year. It’s frightening at times.
Rangers have potentially NEVER had an asset with as much potential as Alfredo Morelos.
Although fans will be hoping we don’t have to find out just how much financial potential he has any time soon.
