Alfredo Morelos’ performance against St Johnstone has brought rave reviews from the supporters.

Morelos continued his fine goalscoring form with a nother strike against Saints. Added to that, however, his build-up play was terrific once more as he continues to add to his game.

The Colombian is Rangers’ top goalscorer this season so far with seven goals. It’s how he’s improving his game outside of his scoring abilities, however, that’s impressing Gers fans this season.

Taking to Twitter after the 5-1 rout against Tommy Wright’s Saints, supporters waxed lyrical about their prolific front-man.

Supporters’ love-affair with Alfredo

It’s incredible to see the love supporters have for Morelos these days. It wasn’t long ago that people were hounding him after his performances against Shkupi at the start of the season.

The forward has, however, made great strides since then and has been floroushing under Steven Gerrard this term.

Yet, Morelos was only one of a number of positives on Sunday against the Saints. Rangers were dominant from start to finish, with the likes of Daniel Candeias and Scott Arfield also seriously impressing.

Kyle Lafferty, who was also on the scoresheet, was brought in to give Rangers somethng different going forward. His aerial prowess and ability to hold the ball up gives Gerrard another option.

Looking at Morelos, however, shows that he also has the skillset to do this. Some of his combination play yesterday was senstional, and when Rangers are thriving how they are these days and playing with confidence, Morelos it always a big contributor.

Next up for Rangers is a home match against Ayr United in the Betfred Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night.
