Everyone has an opinion on Rangers and the future of Philippe Clement but few are better placed than those who have experienced the highs and lows of life in Light Blue.
The manager is always one bad result away from a crisis as he continues to dig himself deeper into a hole that only seems to be getting bigger.
Speaking on Premier Sports punditry duty, Alan Hutton, who played for managers who were failures and hugely successful, had had his say on Rangers‘ disastrous defeat to Queen’s Park and what happens next for Clement.

Alan Hutton gives Philippe Clement sack verdict
Always balanced in his opinions, Hutton had more than a few issues with the Scottish Cup exit:
“The result is terrible for Rangers as a club. There is no getting away from that fact,” bemoaned the former right-back and record sale.
“The gap in the league, losing the League Cup, now this – the one shining light is the European performances. I have always said it’s going to be an up and down season – he speaks about a rebuild but how long are we going to speak about a rebuild?
“One season, two seasons – it is what it is. That wasn’t good enough. It’s quite as simple as that.
“He talks about the substitutes – I think Bailey Rice has to stay on for the 90 minutes, learn from it. He has hit the panic button at half-time and decided I need to get Raskin on, I need to get Dessers on and I need to win the game.
“I still believe, though, they will stick with him. I think they believe the rinse and repeat of changing managers has to stop at some stage, so I do believe they will stick with him.
“But I do believe it’s a results driven business, and at this moment in time that’s not good enough.”
Why Patrick Stewart he an easy decision to make
Not sacking a manager because the previous managers haven’t been good enough is not how a successful football club should be run.
Fans should never dictate how a club is run either, but support for Clement is at an all-time low.
The result against Queen’s Park is terrible, as Hutton says, but is it really a shock?
That type of display always feels like it is just around the corner and can come out of nowhere.
Patrick Stewart said that there are “no guarantees” that Clement won’t be sacked if results don’t improve, that claim is about to be tested.
