Ex-Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara and Leeds United took one step closer to Premier League promotion with a stunning 4-0 win away to Swansea.
The Finnish international midfielder, 28, played the entire game as an electric Leeds United laid out their promotion intentions with a rout in South Wales.
Goals from Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe – who have both been linked to Rangers in recent windows – came before a stunning Wilfried Gnonto double secured the points.
The result continues Leeds United’s perfect start to 2024, the club winning seven straight Championship matches to bring them up to second in the table.
Glen Kamara central to Leeds United
Glen Kamara – who joined Leeds United from Rangers in a £5m deal in the summer – has been central to the Championship side this season.
Playing every minute of the bruising victory over Swansea City, Kamara has started all seven of those Championship victories with the midfielder sitting out the club’s last defeat against West Brom in late December.
Making 24 Championship appearances for the club out of a possible 26, it’s clear Leeds United rate Glen Kamara very highly and Ibrox fans will have one eye on the midfielder’s progress.
Kamara, who famously joined Rangers for £50k in the January of 2019, played 193 times for the Ibrox side before a summer move to Elland Road.
Premier League beckons for ex-Rangers star?
Leeds United’s storming win over Swansea City brings the club up to second and has the Yorkshire outfit dreaming of a quick return to the Premier League.
Relegated at the end of last season, the famous white-kitted outfit were amongst the favourites to bounce straight back but have faced stiff competition in the English second tier.
Managed by German coach Daniel Farke, the club now occupy an automatic promotion slot in 2nd place, 12 points off runaway leaders Leicester City.

Competition is fierce for the second slot with Southampton two points behind, having played a game less, and Ipswich Town six points behind Leeds with two games in hand.
It promises to be an electric finish to the Championship season but going by Leeds United’s current form, you wouldn’t bet against Glen Kamara and co reaching the Premier League.
The former Rangers midfielder is a classy player indeed and there will be more than a few bluenoses who’d like to see how the ex-Dundee star copes in the English top flight.
