Prominent sports journalist and talkSPORT host Adrian Durham believes Brendan Rodgers left Celtic Park in a hurry because he is scared of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
The interesting take comes as Rodgers leaves Celtic Park to take over at Premier League Leicester City.
And it may well have legs because Rodgers future at Celtichas been shaky ever since Steven Gerrard walked up the famous marble staircase.

“I think he’s actually scared of Steven Gerrard,” said Adrian Durham on Drivetime. “The fact that Rangers beat Celtic just after Christmas, that’s a worrying sign for Brendan Rodgers.”
“The gap with Rangers is getting closer and closer. He doesn’t want to be the guy who’s in charge when Rangers overtake Celtic.

“It’s a little bit about bottle and a bit about managing your own career but I think Gerrard has got him running scared a little bit and that’s why he’s coming to Leicester.”
Durham clearly thinks Rangers are on the up whilst Celtic have stagnated. What’s more, he’s claiming Rodgers knows it. The gap has undeniably closed this season and Rangers are much stronger than they were in the last.

The focus for Steven Gerrard now is stopping the rot and breaking Celtic’s charge for a treble treble.
And if we do manage to make up ground in the league between now and then it could well make for something very special.
Some Celtic fans were inconsolable after Brendan Rodgers left the club in a hurry.
