Rangers have started to lay the foundations for the future with some of the changes that are being made behind the scenes.
The appointment of Kevin Thelwell as sporting director is a step in the right direction, with the imminent takeover by the San Francisco 49ers a potential game changer.
The biggest question mark hanging over the club is who is going to be the next Rangers manager with a watchful eye being cast towards what is happening south of the border.
Leeds United have sealed promotion to the Premier League, however, there are reports that Daniel Farke might not be in charge next season.
When previous comments of Paraag Marathe are taking into consideration, it shows just how ruthless the 49ers are.

Ruthless Paraag Marathe could axe Danile Farke despite previous praise
Leeds chairman Marathe is jetting in for talks with Farke and it doesn’t look good for the German, however, his reputation will be intact after securing a play-off final place last season and automatic promotion in this campaign.
A report in The Guardian has named former Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the former Bayer Leverkusen, PSV and Benfica coach Roger Schmidt and Davide Ancelotti, yes, of Carlo Ancelotti lineage, as potential candidates that the 49ers are considering.
If he is relieved of his duties, it wouldn’t be a great look for Marathe who said of Farke:
“I don’t think he had a fair stack of cards when he was in the Premier League.
“We’re going to give him the deck of cards. I think he could be a very successful coach across Europe. This isn’t just: ‘Hey get us through the Championship.’”
If Farke is sacked, it serves as a warning to the next Gers boss just how ruthless the 49ers organisation can be if targets aren’t being met.
Put it another way, it doesn’t look like they would give a manager another chance after losing to lower league opposition if they are quite happy to hand one their P45 even if they win the league.
Is Marathe making the right decision?
However….
This can be taken two ways.
On one hand, Marathe is going back on his word if he decides that Farke has taken Leeds as far as he can, but on the other, he is being proactive and making a judgement call to benefit Leeds in the long term.
If he has seen repeat issues not get resolved by Farke or problems that haven’t been addressed, then making a change now, rather than after a poor start to next season is the right call.
It would be the right call if they replace him with the right replacement, it’s just that there are questions marks about all the names mentioned above.
