£6m Rangers PL exit reports are way off with eight figures more like it

Rangers star Filip Helander is reportedly a wanted man as a duo of Premier League clubS are linked to the big Swedish international defender.

Still yet to taste defeat in the Scottish Premiership as a Rangers player, Big Fil has shown himself to be every inch the Serie A stopper we signed for £3m from Bologna last summer.

But whilst Aston Villa and Leicester City might have one eye on the player according to reports in his homeland [Sport Bladet], they can think again at the price being widely reported in the press.

According to multiple outlets – who’ve repeated a claim by Football Insider – Helander will be available for £6m this summer if the big money Prem clubs come a’knocking.

But even if Rangers are lining up a move for Kenyan defender Joseph Okumu to replace Helander – as is being reported in Sweden – £6m appears awfully short for a defender of supreme quality.

Should Helander go on to impress in this summer’s European Championships, where he is likely to feature heavily with Sweden, it makes an even greater mockery of this reported pricetag.

A natural defender who has expert positioning, astute tactical discipline, and a defensive reliability which is worthy of his three years in Italy, Helander is an understated asset of Rangers’.

Normally we’re talking about Alfredo Morelos, Glen Kamara or even Ryan Kent when it comes to prospective moves out of Ibrox but at the back Helander would be a worthy addition for any side.

With two years remaining on his current deal and Helander entering his prime at 27, anything less than eight figures from the Premier League for the Scandinavian is undercutting his value.

Speaking of Okumu, read what the big defender had to say regarding his future as he continues to be linked with a move away from his current side Elfsborg.
