Moroccan playmaker Younes Belhanda has travelled to Glasgow with Galatasaray as they prepare for their crunch Europa League playoff match with Rangers.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder was previously said to be closing in on a move to Ligue 1 side Nice which could rule him out of the tie.

The news will come as a considerable boost to Galatasaray who are without a host of first-team stars for what promises to be an enthralling contest in Glasgow.

It has already been confirmed that Turkish superstar and ex-Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan will miss the tie due to suffering from flu-like symptoms.

Legendary Colombian striker Falcao is also reportedly set to start on the bench, whilst the likes of Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, Turkish winger Emre Kilinc and midfielder Emre Akbaba will also miss out.

Moroccan international Belhanda scored in last round of Europa League qualifying as Galatasaray dumped Croatian side Hadjuk Split 2-0 on home soil.

According to Spor, Belhanda is close to a £6.3m (€7m) move to the French club, for whom Belhanda spent a loan spell with earlier in his career.

The 30-year-old has scored twice in five appearances so far this season and was substituted in the final minutes of the weekend’s intercontinental derby with Fenerbahce.

The 50-times capped star also played for Montpellier, Dynamo Kiev and Schalke before signing for Galatasaray in 2017 but looked set to move after being fined €150,000 for being sent off in an intercontinental derby earlier this year.
