Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet has caught the eye of Rangers fans after an impressive start to life at Easter Road, but he could’ve been off to the English Championship if he’d had his way.
Birmingham City had already plundered Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen to sign striker Sam Cosgrove in a £2m deal [Daily Record] and they almost returned to do the same to Hibs.

The St. Andrews club reportedly bid £3m for the 13-goal striker’s services with Jack Ross’ side turning down the offer despite only paying £250k for the player in the summer.
However, Nisbet, 23, is said to have handed in a transfer request to try and force through the move which would’ve seen the striker receive a wage boost in a higher profile division.
A source close to the striker took to the Scottish Sun to explain Nisbet’s frustrations with the situation.
“Kevin loves Hibs and hasn’t been looking for a move,” said the source.
“But there have been mixed messages coming from the club on how they see his future.
“Kevin now he feels backed into a corner over the whole situation and has made his feelings known.”
However, despite Nisbet’s grumbles, the player remains at Hibs with the striker now being forced to get his head down until the summer.

The striker will have one eye on the Scotland EURO2020 squad but if anything, this proves Nisbet will be open to a move in the future.
Some Rangers fans have previously urged the club to “pull out the stops” to sign the player who has impressed in front of goal this season.
