Danny Rohl is expected to axe Youssef Chermiti from the Rangers starting eleven when they play host to Hearts at Ibrox.
After the 1-1 draw against Motherwell on Wednesday, the Ibrox outfit find themselves five points behind Hearts in the Scottish Premiership table.
Celtic are also right in the title race after their win against Livingston, and are just one point behind their Glasgow rivals.
Youssef Chermiti struggles in front of goal against Motherwell
Rohl opted to start Chermiti against Motherwell on Wednesday night at Fir Park.
This meant that the German left January signing Ryan Naderi on the bench, along with Bojan Miovski.
However, it was not a game to remember for the former Everton forward, who was on the pitch for 86 minutes before being taken off for Miovski.
The Gers were not at their fluent attacking best, but they did manage to get the ball to the 21-year-old in the right positions.
He was presented with a total of four decent chances to find the back of the net, but he failed to score even one goal.
During his time on the pitch, Chermiti amassed an xG of 0.91, and Rohl expects his main striker to at least score once.
There was a chance where he was clean through on goal, and while he made decent contact with the ball, he hit it straight at Calum Ward in the Motherwell goal.
This display most certainly calls for him to be dropped for the Hearts game on Sunday.
Ryan Naderi expected to start for Rangers vs Hearts
Naderi had two goals in two games going into the Motherwell clash, so it came as a bit of a surprise that Rohl had not included him in the playing eleven.
The Gers manager even sanctioned a move for him a few months in advance, which saw the club paying a premium in the January transfer window.
The former Hansa Rostock striker will add much-needed physicality and aerial prowess in attack, and that could see the likes of Mikey Moore and Andreas Skov Olsen thrive as well.
He is also more clinical in front of goal than Chermiti, and should be handed a start this weekend.
