As Rangers begin to grease their gears once again and find their best playing form of the season to date, the club’s best player this campaign in Joe Aribo isn’t quite there yet.
After a first half of the campaign which saw our number 17 impress on a weekly basis, Aribo was an early frontrunner for the Player of the Year Award in Scotland.

But Aribo’s campaign was interrupted by that trip to AFCON and whilst his teammates were resting up for the season ahead Joe was impressing in Cameroon.
Since then the midfielder has been thrust straight back into the Rangers side and whilst we saw flashes of his ability against Ross County, interestingly Joe has not quite hit the heights of early season.
However, it’s clear that the Nigerian international has all the qualities to help fire the Gers to the title and that’s why this weekend is the perfect opportunity for Joe to put his legs up.
Joe Aribo should be rested for Rangers trip to Annan
The 25-year-old midfielder has earned a rest and that’s why we think he should be dropped for the trip to Galabank and Annan Athletic this weekend.
Rangers are expected to undergo heavy rotation for the Scottish Cup clash against the League Two side and heading the list should be the ex-Charlton man.

If Joe can recharge his batteries and have the weekend off after a hectic winter schedule, it can help boost Rangers massively ahead of their Europa League trip to Borussia Dortmund.
If Rangers are to take anything from the match against the Germans, then Joe Aribo will surely be central to it as expectations build ahead of the clash.
Meanwhile, one under-fire manager’s loss is Rangers’ gain as one Ibrox star continues to go from strength-to-strength this season.
