Rangers injury news: Mikey Moore among six players to miss Aberdeen clash

Danny Rohl has a selection dilemma as six of his Rangers players, including Mikey Moore, are expected to miss the game against Aberdeen.

The German got his side back to winning ways after beating St Mirren 1-0, but he needs them to pick up the three points at Ibrox to continue their quest for the Scottish Premiership title.

He may have to do it with a different system, as there are a number of fitness issues in his first team.

Tuur Rommens and Andreas Skov Olsen also expected to be out vs Aberdeen

Tuur Rommens, who shone for Rangers against St Mirren, is also ruled out of Saturday’s game due to an injury.

Chris Jack relayed what he heard from Rohl, who stated that the left-back had a small problem, and said the same thing about Moore as well.

Andreas Skov Olsen, who joined in January, is unavailable as he has been ill this week.

Mohamed Diomande suffered a shoulder injury, but returned to first-team training, although this game will come too early for him.

Bailey Rice is unavailable until the end of the season and Derek Cornelius is also ruled out despite returning from his injury, with Rohl giving him permission to join the Canada squad ahead of the international break.

Jack wrote on X: “Mohamed Diomande has returned to Rangers training after missing the win over St Mirren last weekend.

Skov Olsen has been ill this week. Moore and Rommens have ‘small problems’.”

Which Rangers players are likely to start?

With Rommens out, Jayden Meghoma is expected to come into the starting eleven.

He is the second-choice left-back and has done a decent job whenever he’s had to fill in.

Missing Moore and Skov Olsen will be a bigger blow for Rohl as the duo have been regular starters for him on the left and right, respectively.

However, Skov Olsen was benched for Djeidi Gassama against St Mirren, who could be asked to play on the left this Saturday.

Oliver Antman or Thelo Aasgaard could be asked to play on the right, as the Gers manager could even look to move away from his 4-2-2-2 system.
