Rangers target Jens Hjerto-Dahl is continuing to make headlines after a splendid goal for Tromso on Saturday.

The Norwegian league does not run like most European leagues from autumn to spring, and is already midway through the current season.

Tromso are currently atop the standings and have to credit their star midfielder for their win against HamKam.

Rangers have agreed personal terms with Hjerto-Dahl already, but will want to act quickly, as such performances will only ramp up interest in his services.

What are your expectations from Jens Hjerto-Dahl at Rangers?

Rangers target Jens Hjerto-Dahl puts in stellar performance for Tromso

Hjerto-Dahl received the ball on the edge of the opponent’s penalty area as he moved the ball a bit to the right and then had a strike on goal.

The 20-year-old hit the ball so cleanly that the opposition goalkeeper had no chance of saving it.

Rangers fans will absolutely love this strike as they have missed having midfielders capable of getting on the ball and firing shots that cleanly.

Another video emerged of him carrying the ball out of defence with confidence and speed, and the only way the opponents could stop him was by making a slide tackle.

This is similar to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, especially in the role he has played for England in major tournaments.

How Hjerto-Dahl is showing similarities to Jude Bellingham

Obviously, comparing Hjerto-Dahl to one of the best attacking midfielders in the world is premature, but he does resemble the traits of Bellingham.

Both of them are dynamic, high-energy box-to-box players who are very good at carrying the ball through the thirds.

They have shown versatility in attacking positions and, as seen above, have a ferocious shot on them.

Which formation should Derek McInnes use at Rangers?

Given the players he's got so far, there are a number of ways that the team can play…

Paying around £7m for a 20-year-old may seem steep, but if he has the kind of progression as Bellingham does, then the Rangers board will be all for it.

The Norwegian midfielder now needs to prove that he can do it outside his domestic league as well.

Bellingham left Birmingham City to become a star at Borussia Dortmund and then achieved superstardom at Real Madrid.

The Ibrox faithful will hope that he can do the same thing in the Premiership as well and take the team to new heights.
