Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter after the starting XI was announced for tonight’s Europa League qualifier against Galatasaray.
The Gers comfortably defeated Lincoln Red Imps and then swept aside Willem II to reach this stage.
However, Gala will provide the biggest test yet, with the Turkish giants entering this contest as favourites.
Steven Gerrard’s side won’t have the energy of the crowd to draw upon this evening but they should be high in confidence following a 5-1 thrashing of Motherwell at the weekend.
As predicted, only minor tweaks have been made to the starting XI from that game at Fir Park.
Allan McGregor remains between the sticks, James Tavernier captains the side from right-back and Filip Helander partners Connor Goldson at centre-back.
In the first of two changes, Borna Barisic returns from a rest to replace Calvin Bassey at left-back.
In midfield, the trio of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield have been retained, while Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos also hold onto their spots in the team.
The impressive Jordan Jones drops to the bench, though, making way for Ianis Hagi, who thrives on the big occasion.
The Romania international’s father is a Galatasaray legend and given that he was born in Istanbul, the 21-year-old is sure to be pumped up for this one.
