Fans are nervously awaiting the first Rangers starting XI of the season ahead of the Scottish Premiership trip to face Hearts.

The Ibrox side are set to kick off the Scottish Premiership season away to the Jambos at Tynecastle and it’s all eyes on Edinburgh this afternoon.

Rangers have undergone a substantial summer of change with even more comings and goings expected in the weeks running up to the deadline at the end of August.

But despite much work remaining on the club’s squad, the Gers have officially announced the first line up of the campaign.

Rangers confirmed XI v Hearts

Rangers fans will hope to catch their first glimpse of several new signings this afternoon against Hearts.

But Ibrox number one and last season’s Player of the Year Jack Butland retains his place between the sticks.

In defence, there’s a start for Rangers captain James Tavernier whilst there is no place for new signing Robin Pröpper.

John Souttar partners Ben Davies at the heart of the defence with Ridvan Yilmaz at left-back.

In midfield, Mohamed Diomande is expected to be a figurehead for Rangers this season and starts alongside new signing Connor Barron.

Barron is the only debutant to make the starting XI v Hearts.

There are also places for Tom Lawrence, Oscar Cortes and Scott Wright behind Cyriel Dessers at the top of the pitch.

New signings Jefte and Vaclav Cerny have been included on the bench.
