Rangers take on Ross County in the Scottish Premiership looking to continue where they left off against St Johnstone.

With less than a week to go before the transfer window closes, Philippe Clement will still want reinforcements to his squad and will be buoyed by Nils Koppen working hard behind the scenes.

For Hampden today though, Rangers will have to go with what they have and here is your confirmed team news to face the Staggies.

Rangers team news confirmed vs Ross County

Successful, title winning teams, are usually built on strong foundations.

When Rangers last won the league, you could name the back four with Leon Balogun and Filip Helander rotating at centre-half in partnership with Connor Goldson.

Under Clement, the Gers boss hasn’t been as fortunate in terms of consistency, with Robin Propper not quite fully fit for this week.

Jefte was arguably man of the match, whereas James Tavernier wasn’t quite as productive.

His status as captain and shortages in midfield are buying him time with Dujon Sterling needed elsewhere.

A centre-half pairing of John Souttar and Robin Propper has looked promising, but Leon Balogun’s return to fitness gives the big Dutchman a bit more time to recover for bigger games ahead.

A £6m offer for Brazilian wonderkid Kaiky should help Souttar focus just that little bit more though.

Rangers fans have been crying out for a more dynamic midfield and, without new signings and injury to Nicolas Raskin, there is only one obvious triumvirate to go with, however, Tom Lawrence has returned with Mohamed Diomande benched.

Here is your Rangers team for today’s Hampden clash:

Sterling, Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande dovetail nicely and provide Rangers with the best chance of taking points off Celtic at Parkhead in the first Old Firm derby of the season.

Playing them together just makes sense but it looks like Clement is resting Diomande.

Rangers attack taking shape as Clement learns strongest XI

Rangers have started to click a bit more in attack too.

Good chances have been created against both Motherwell and St Johnstone but now Clement will be wanting more of them to be converted.

If they continue to play the same way, someone will be on the end of a heavy defeat eventually.

Cyriel Dessers is bang in form with three goals and an assist in his four and a half appearances.

The assist might be generous for Ross McCausland’s goal last weekend, however, there is a decent chance that the big Nigerian would have finished it off himself given his current strike rate.

Vaclav Cerny is an automatic first choice now and, despite speculation linking him with a move to Blackburn, Rabbi Matondo looked more dangerous than any of his peers last week.

His partnership down the left with Jefte also looked promising.

Three points and one less game at Hampden is all Rangers fans will be looking for, a more comfortable afternoon wouldn’t go a miss too.
