Michael Stewart has analysed the footage from the game between Rangers and Motherwell at Ibrox on Sunday.
Rangers lost 3-2 to Motherwell, and that result dented their chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title.
The game had a number of talking points, including an incident involving Djeidi Gassama, which Danny Rohl believed was enough to merit a penalty.
Will Rangers sack Danny Rohl if they fail to win the league?
If he goes, who would be a good replacement for him?
Michael Stewart believes Danny Rohl and Kevin Clancy got it all wrong
Stewart believes that Rangers should not have been given a penalty as the foul was committed by Gassama and not on Gassama.
Kevin Clancy, the match referee, believed that Lukas Fadinger fouled the Gers winger, but it was deemed to be outside the penalty area.
The VAR did not ask him to check the incident again, despite there being a suspicion of the contact starting inside the penalty area.
While many, including former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg, believe that it should have been a penalty as the foul was committed on Gassama, Stewart has taken a completely different outlook on the incident.
He told Premier Sports: “Shut up and listen. If you’re giving a free-kick for that, then it’s a penalty kick because it’s on the line. But, it’s never a foul for Rangers. It’s a foul for the Motherwell player.”
Will Rangers re-sign Mikey Moore for the 2026/27 season?
His silence when asked about a return speaks volumes…
Stewart once again gets it wrong about Rangers
Stating that it was a foul against Rangers is just baffling and undoubtedly one of the worst takes on this incident there is.
Even the staunchest of Motherwell fans believe that they got away with this decision, as it would have changed the outcome of the match.
Rangers would likely have scored the penalty, making it 1-1, and that would have given them the momentum to win the game.

They did score two goals after being down 2-0, so most likely would have picked up the three points had this decision gone in their favour.
Stewart knows it, too, but wants to continue his bias against Rangers, which is so obvious.
Hopefully, for the Light Blues, they bounce back and show up against Hearts, as that is a must-win game.
