Rangers are back in action tonight as the Light Blues take on Sunderland in Portugal in the first of four pre-season friendlies against English sides in the next few weeks.

Gio van Bronckhorst’s side have already had one game so far – a closed-doors win over Partick Thistle – and this will be the first chance for fans to see the new-look Gers in action after the summer break.

With three new signings in the squad and a few familiar faces having moved on, there could be a very different set-up for the Gers tonight against the Black Cats.

While Antonio Colak and Tom Lawrence are likely to only have minimal if any involvement John Souttar could play a big role tonight as he settles in following his move from Hearts.

There could also be a return to action for Fil Helander after injury while Alfredo Morelos, Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe all remain on the sidelines.

With only three weeks until the Scottish Premiership season gets started, Rangers need to start hitting their stride with the opening few weeks of the new campaign absolutely vital.
