A depleted Rangers side is preparing to face off against German outfit RB Leipzig for a place in the Europa League final.
The first leg takes place in Germany and will see the Gers travel to the European nation without a host of first-team stars.
At the top end of the pitch, Alfredo Morelos’ absence has been felt monumentally whilst stand-in striker Kemar Roofe is also ruled out.
Thankfully, amid rumours to the contrary, Fashion Sakala does make the trip to Leipzig.
Juventus loanee Aaron Ramsey – signed for this kind of match exactly – also misses out, whilst Filip Helander wasn’t even registered for the squad post-Christmas due to his injury issues.
Influential Romanian international Ianis Hagi has also been ruled out for the season.
It means it will be something of a changed Rangers side for the visit to Germany but we reckon this Ibrox squad still has enough to deliver in Leipzig.
In goal, the club’s record European appearance holder Allan McGregor is expected to play between the sticks and done the pre-match press conference for the team.
Captain James Tavernier and vice-captain Connor Goldson are shoo-ins to start in defence, with Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic being tipped to start alongside them.
In front of them, we’re going for the impressive duo of John Lundstram and Ryan Jack, with a resurgent Joe Aribo occupying the traditional number 10 slot.
The biggest dilemma for the side comes up front and we’re backing Fashion Sakala to start off the left with Ryan Kent playing as a false 9.
On the right, such is his high work-rate for the team we reckon Scott Arfield will get the nod as Rangers look to get out of Leipzig with their Europa League lives intact.
