Rangers fans react to confirmed starting XI vs Hamilton Accies

Rangers fans have reacted on social media after the Gers starting XI was confirmed for Sunday afternoon’s Premiership clash against Hamilton Accies [Official Rangers FC Twitter].

Steven Gerrard’s side are hoping to restore their 23-point lead at the top of the league table with a victory in South Lanarkshire.

Contrastingly, Accies are four points adrift at the bottom of the table and badly in need of a positive result.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Nikola Katic, Scott Arfield and Jermain Defoe were all ruled out in advance through injury, while Alfredo Morelos is suspended and there was uncertainty around Kemar Roofe’s availability after he was retrospectively charged with violent conduct by the SFA and offered a two-match ban.

Yet, Roofe has been named on the bench and Steven Gerrard has still managed to select a strong XI.

Allan McGregor starts in goal, while the back four of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic is unchanged from the midweek win over St Johnstone.

In midfield, Glen Kamara and Bongani Zungu come in for Steven Davis and Ryan Jack, while Joe Aribo retains his spot and is likely operate in an advanced role.

There’s just a third-ever Premiership start for Cedric Itten up front and he will be supported by both Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent.

Will this team be strong enough to secure a win in Hamilton?

Plenty of Bears were delighted to see Itten’s name on the teamsheet for the first time since November in the league.
